Content is everything.

I Read to Write ©2021 is designed to help students master the skills needed for close reading and responding to multiple sources on writing assessments.

Among other things, students learn to cite text evidence as they respond to multiple sources; to write across Science, Social Studies, and Math content areas; and to write within three text types: narrative, informative/explanatory, and opinion.

Rainbow was responsible for developing, writing, editing, and/or reviewing all content for both the Student Editions and Teacher Editions, Grades 2–5.

Rainbow’s team of assessment experts handled NGSS-aligned item development for the print and digital Assessment Guides, Grades 1–5, used in conjunction with the national edition of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s instructional program, Science Dimensions ©2018.

Rainbow’s team of assessment experts developed the following item types for the Utah Navigator Formative Item Bank—Science, Grades K–2: Multiple Choice (MC3) and Machine Scored Constructed Response (MSCR) Grid items. Technology Enhanced Items included writing and editing of item stem, rubric, item attributes, description of art spec, creation of art (graphics), and inputting into MSCR tool for Science.

Rainbow developed content and indexing for the following Grades 1–2 components of Harcourt Science (California Edition) ©2008: Teacher Editions, Transparencies, Ancillaries, and Assessment Guides.

Rainbow developed content for the following Grades K–2 components of Newbridge Early Science Series ©2000: Big Books, Student Books, Language Development Cards, and Teacher Guides. In addition to editorial development, our team also handled photo research, art management, and design and production through release of final files.

iOpeners ©2005 is designed to equip students “with the skills and strategies they need to access and comprehend nonfiction so that they are not only learning to read but reading to learn. The high-interest content and eye-popping photography of iOpeners brings science, math and social studies topics to life . . .” Rainbow edited Grades 3–6 of this series.
